Here is something to note:
Accepting I485 along with a pending I-140 is part of the rule making by USCIS and so they may choose to change the rule back to "not accept I485 until an I140 petition is approved" just like that good ol' days before 2002, if they want.
But, I don't think they would do that as they need all the money that is being generated by EAD/AP.:rolleyes:

I dont *****ing care if they are under pressure... they still have to follow the guideliens.... just an analogy... just because ur under pressure to reach work on time... doesnt give you the liberty to speed... u still have to follow the speed limits... whatever.... i am just damn frustrated with this whole mess
Completely agree with you. What the heck is this... why not just assign the visa numbers to application as per their PD and then see if the case can be instantly approved or needs more investigation.

Schuck said he thinks the immigration debate is often more political than practical, and divisions do not necessarily fall along party lines.
"Immigration has strange political alliances," he said. "I would guess that there are a number of Democrats as well as some restrictionist Republicans who have supported the restriction of these visas."
The Bush administration has supported comprehensive immigration reform and increasing avenues for foreign workers to gain employment legally, according to CNN and the Washington Post, respectively.
Alumni differed on how much the H-1B shortage affected their lives. Some students, like Konieczny, said not receiving H-1B status was highly disruptive to their lives and future plans. But others said that while changing their plans was inconvenient, not getting a visa this year will not affect them greatly in the long-term.
"I am doing the same kind of job, just in a different office," Yue Zhou said.
Current international students must be aware of the H-1B visa quota and file their forms as soon as possible, alumni said.

I am a Jul 23rd I-485 filer. Just called USCIS second time (first time no success), went thru their menu and was lucky to get a great Cust Service Rep.
She asked me the I-485 receipt #s, address, primary contact #, DOB, and Zip Code for self and spouse.
She generated a SR for us together and gave us a Conf # for FP notice. She said that you should receive a FP appt notice in next 30 days.
So I guess, perseverance does pay off :)
Hopefully we can get this FP out of the way soon enough.
FYI I am a Bay Area resident.
I am not sure if opening SR helps, especially for TSC. I opened SR 30 days ago and still waiting. They have not scheduled me yet for an appointment.

been in us since 1999 and lost my earlier priorty date and now my priority date is Jan 2007...it sucks...the only good thing is i now have EAD and AP. everyone who is here fro last 5-6 years should be current with priority dates..

I do not think transfer matters. Mine was filed directly with TSC because my lawyers reason: my I-140 was approved from there.

I am guessing that we will probably receive similar response as posted by sweet_jungle that they are waiting for local ASC. I don't think we will receive FP after notice 30 days but this kind of response. Maybe local ASC are scheduling peoples appointment based on their name check results. Otherwise why would people who applied on last day of filing , Aug 16,2007 receive FP notice from my local ASC and not me.
Apahilaj, I have this idea. Is there a way we can reach an IO who is not associated with TSC but can give the same information. Maybe an IO of NSC/CSC.

I see a pattern here.Looks like the EB2 folks are getting EAD renewals much faster than the EB3 folks.EB3's are getting screwed even here.
