    What address did you use to send the I-485 using FedEx or UPS?I sent it to the PO Box address:

    I did not know that FedEx/UPS could deliver to PO boxes and that you would have a person receiving and signing for it???

    I have donated in past a few hundred - stopped now. I think major portion of donated money goes to a Lobbying firm and I think it is a mere wash. The fact they couldn't facilitate even a single bill in House or Senate for visa is a testament of their failure. Whatever IV has achieved so far ..like July visa bulletin (Flower compaign, coordination with AILA and congresswoman Joe Lofgren) and admin efforts for 2-year are purely the result of IV core and member active participation. Correct me if I am wrong.

    I would start donating again if IV stops spending on a lobbying firm and starts spending on highlighting our plight with American Media.

However, in America, its first time after Martin Luther King Jr., that someone has tried to apply Gandhi's way to fight injustice. It is yet not clear that what would be the outcome of this campaign, but there are rumours that USCIS is already discussing internally to reverse the discriminatory decision which resulted in this flower campaign causing enough embarrassement to them.

    Its amazing to witness that 60 years after Gandhi's demise, his ideology is still relevant. We are sure its gonna remain relevant till there are Lord Wavell's in this world. Wavell's can momentarily laugh thinking that unorganized immigrants are helpless, but when the peaceful protest will demonstrate its political power, they surely will realize what Gandhi and Gandhian ways are all about. :D.......

    What is the commitment period? I know this is frustrating but deal with that as time passes by, who knows you manager changes by the time you decide to change the job or your client send a request to hire you to your vendor and in general no vendor refuse client request. Once this agreement is in file do you think someone will have time to bring this up and read clause by clause that too when you have left... there can be many reasons to leave and can not be covered under any agreement.



    I will not worry about sigining this, this has no value once you get GC or become full time employee,in order to execute this agreement , they have to make sure/prove they have this agreement with each and every employee. Legal terms "EMPLOYMENT IS AT WILL" in order to chase you for 10K they need to spend time & cost both.


    Here you go - These are the wordings !

    1. Employee had agreed to pay $ 10,000 if Employee resigns within first year of receiving the green card (hereinafter �Commitment Period�). After payment of the salary for the working days till the commitment period subject to all applicable payroll taxes and deductions, completes the transaction and Employee agrees that he has no other claims against the company.

    I have sent emails as per the clear (thanks) instructions. I have a small suggestion (correction). Instead of ending with "Thanks, .... Your Name", I suggest using "Thank You, ..... Your Name". IMHO, "Thanks" is used among friends and family and "Thank You" would be used for being more formal.

    I know it is a minor detail, but I felt liking speaking what I felt.

    Assume that we convert to EB2 from next week..how long would it take to get to the I-485 stage.??..given an ideal scenario of no audits..PERM 3-6 months and I-1140 can we expidite??. in 15 days..

    Sorry to hear about your situation. I would suggest that you talk to a good immigration lawyer about this.
    In the worst case scenario, if your wife has an EAD she can try to find a job and ask her company to sponsor an H-1B.
    I hope things take a turn for the better for you and your family.

    I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.

    I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003

    The culprit being subjected to Gandhigiri (Gandhi-ism: A strategy to win unjust,corrupt mind by highly unexpected pleasant deeds.)has some shame and self respect.If the target is a moron, he would slap you to death, no matter how many chances you give him.

    In our case we don't even know who the culprit is (USCIS/DOS/Capitol Hill/Anti-Immigrants/Lobbyists). The only thing that would come out of these flowers is a security alarm. I know many would take this as a negative approach, but this is the most logical outcome of this action.

    On a lighter note, if sending flowers/fruits would have won hearts of the immigration officers, imagine how easy GC would be for those illegal immigrants who work on the farms.

    Gandhigiri is a concept in an indian movie based on Gandhi principles. In which hero of the movie wins over anti-hero by sending flowers to him as per Gandhi principles for every wrong doing he does and he makes others also do the same who are effected by the anti-hero wrong doings..

    Perhaps 5% may still rot in NC
    further.
    EB3-India May 2005 Onwards - Can not predict - It is good to look for other
    options and that option certainly MUST not

    Any lobbying for immigration is tough at the time of recession. I think you are trying to do advocacy effort. Without getting approval from core IV group it will not be any use as advocacy effort only will not work. Senators will note your concerns and will act only if some bill is introduced. You need lobbying with advocacy effort for changing any law. Lobbyists will lobby only at right time as if they do in wrong time it will backfire.

    I am going to complete my 180 days by 1st week of Decemeber. The company I work for, is offering me a Project Manager position. My labor is filed for a programmer. I asked my lawyer and he told me that they sent a email to Florida State Workforce Agency to classify my new position and depending on the reply he tells me that I may or maynot port my labor.
    Is anyone in the same boat? Is there any work around? I have been on H1 for 10 years now working for the same company (2 yrs as Contractor and 8 as employee), they have screwed me many times, I just don't want another disappointment. If this does not work, then I guess I have switch another company....


    If Florida State Workforce Agency classify your new position with diffrent category then you can tell your employer that you don't want this new position. I heard that after 180 days you can get promotion and change the role... Experts can comments further...

    Additionally , I saw a post about "5 reasons to not contribute" that was a gud one. I will bump that one up ...I am surprised that we cant get a 1000 people to contribute some money..An avg of $50 will get us beyond $50,000 (Obviously we dont need even 1000 people because many will contribute 100 or more) ..There just too many leaches who wait for others to do thier job..

    This is an excellent point. I would like to raise this up in next IV conference call.

    Looks like this is a good idea. Even if FB2 is not current, USCIS might allow applying for 485 in such cases.

    Maybe someone more knowledgable or from the core members can throw some light on this.
